Yes. Anteroom is an alternative to Vimeo On Demand and Vimeo OTT for independent filmmakers who want to keep renting out or selling their films directly to their own audience. Your films can stay with Vimeo – Anteroom takes over the watch page, the payment and access to the film.

Vimeo is discontinuing Vimeo On Demand entirely on 20 November 2026. Nothing can be sold or rented there from 21 September 2026 onwards – films already bought stay watchable until 20 November, and no longer after that. So if you have been offering your films through Vimeo On Demand, you need another solution for selling and renting them.

Yes. You can keep using Vimeo as your video hosting and handle the sale through Anteroom. Your viewers reach the watch page from your own website, pay there, and are then given access to the film.

No. You need an existing website – and that is exactly what stays your starting point. On it you replace the existing film or Vimeo On Demand link with the link to your Anteroom watch page.

With Anteroom you link your films from your existing website to a watch page of their own. There, viewers can rent or buy the film, pay through Stripe and then stream it straight away.

The watch page is the page your film runs on – one for each film. The link on your website leads there. Your viewers choose their language and offer, pay, and watch the film right on the page. They also receive a personal access link by email so they can come back to it later.

No. Your films can stay with Vimeo or another supported provider. On your website you simply replace the existing link with your Anteroom watch page.

Yes. You set up your first film and see your watch page beforehand in the preview. It only becomes public once you take it live – and that is exactly when payment begins. You do not need a time-limited trial for that: no clock runs until you go live.

On your Anteroom watch page. Viewers choose the film, the language and the offer there and pay directly. Stripe handles the processing.

Yes. Payments run through your own Stripe account – and that is where your money arrives. We can walk you through setting it up in the onboarding.

You sell in your own name through your own Stripe account – which makes the sales yours for tax purposes. Anteroom uses Stripe Tax to calculate and show the tax on the watch page. For that you enter your own tax registration in Stripe. How you tax your income is between you and your tax adviser.

The rights in your film – including the music in it – are yours, and they stay yours: Anteroom acquires no rights, clears none and reports nothing to collecting societies such as GEMA. Where fees do arise for your film, you carry them yourself. Anteroom supplies the technology for selling and access, not the rights in the film.

Yes. One film can have several language versions, and your viewers pick theirs on the watch page. For the fixed plans it still counts as one film.

Yes – rental, purchase and voluntary support, each with its own price. Which offers a film carries is yours to decide.

Yes, with gift codes – for family, press or festivals. A code belongs to one film and can be redeemed once: the recipient chooses their language version and offer like anyone else, enters the code at checkout instead of paying, and then receives their personal access link by email. If you offer the film for rent, it is a free rental with your usual window. We create the codes for you at the moment – just let us know.

Anteroom is made for independent filmmakers and small film productions who want to offer individual films through their own website – documentaries especially, though not only.

Yes, through a subdomain of your own – for example watch.your-website.com. On the Light, Standard and Premium plans it is included. On Explorer we set it up separately if you want it. Either way it has to be created and connected to Anteroom: depending on your setup, that is done by whoever looks after your website, or by us.

Anteroom is built so that you can handle setup and management yourself. If you would like company along the way, there is the onboarding – together we set up your first film and connect your Stripe account.
